Art Walk Nashua returns for the 5th year this Saturday October 3rd from noon to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 4th from noon to 4:00.
Local artists will open their studios, galleries and businesses to visitors located in 30 venues... rain or shine!
This is a wonderful opportunity to meet Nashua artists and get a head start on holiday shopping, while at the same time supporting local talent.
There will be live music, refreshments and other attractions as patrons stroll along Nashua's Main, Water and Pearl streets as well as the historic Millyard District.
The Millyard District is one of my favorite places to visit during the Art Walk. Visitors will be able to visit more than 10 studios and galleries in the Picker Building (located at 99 Factory Street). Also, you can enjoy viewing art, pottery, jewelry, stained glass, photography, paintings and fine art.
Various business along the route will feature art this year.. Ikebana Flower. Splash, Just Lights, Canal Art and Framing, Aidan James Salon, Fresh, Persona Boutique, Darrell's Music Hall, the Framery, Fortin Gage, 1 World Trading co. Maison DeL'Art.
The Nashua Library will also have local art on display. A book signing for kids is planned by author and illustrator, Youn chen at 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Don't miss the classical piano concert with Gregg Pauley on Saturday at 3:30p.m.
Be sure to tour the Historic Hunt Building located on Main Street in Nashua. The Hunt Building will feature prints and glass work by artists Loretta Hubley, Denis Phelan and Doreen Lustic. You can also enjoy some great live classical jazz and folk music throughput the day.
Events are planned at the gazebo in Rail Road Square. The WSMN studios on Main street also will be open to the public.
There are many more venues, events and participants which you can check out at the Art Walk Website to find a map, view a full list of venues and check out the schedule of many more events.
All of the Art Walk activities are free to the public.

Joan, this sounds like a fun event, I'm sure there will be a great turnout. I imagine the weather will be perfect this time of year.
Joan I hope the weather is good. Any opportunity to support the local artists is a good thing. Great variety of activities for the day. If you get the chance to attend share some photos.
Have a great weekend.
Joan - I love all your posts on local events. You provide just enough info and beautiful photos. You're very talented. This looks like another great event.
Joan,
What a great way to promote your community and have a good time. Good luck with the event. :)
Steve
Debbie -- Looks like Sunday is going to be the better day. I am just listening to the weather report and we may be rain tomorrow p.m.
Jennifer~ I have gone on the art walk twice and it is great! I love the Hunt Building and the Millyard. Tomorrow I have an home inspection in the a.m. so I hope I can make it over there for a while in the afternoon if the rain holds off.
Gail ~ Thanks for the comments... I so enjoy all the event that are going on this time of year! This is a great event and it is a good way to support the local artist.
Steve ~ I love to promote these types of events. We have some real talent here in Nashua and throughout New Hampshire.
Hi Joan this sounds like an event you would find me at. I love the fresco work. When I was on my trip, I took a picture of a whole building done this way. Check it out. These building paining really improve the whole flavor of the neighborhood. Paint more, build less, LOL.
William ~ That is amazing... I love your motto Paint more, build less! I certainly hope I can make to this event tomorrow or Sunday.. There is also the apple festival and Beaver Brook and Walktoberfest... lots to do this weekend.
Joan: Now THIS... sounds like a very fun thing to do. And... those arches painted on that building in the photo... look so realistic I would think someone would get hurt trying to walk into them. I can understand why.
I just love the name "Walktoberfest." How original and inventive. Sure with I was there to take all of this in. Maybe in my next life... sigh !
Hi Joan:
Sounds like a nice little event.
The photo really shows the artwork that can be done.
Enjoy!
Sounds like a lot of fun Joan. Judging by the picture I bet there is a lot of great talent.
Great local post, Joan. I bet plenty of peeps will come out for this!
Joan sounds like a nice way to spend a relaxing Saturday, and get to see great art work.
An excellent time to broaden cultural horizons and enjoy the day..
Karen Anne~ There are so many things going on today. Unfortuantely it rained alot. I had a follow up inspection and was trying to get to a couple of the events, but I didn't want to be out in the heavy rain. What a shame.
Hi Toula ~ I wish the weather had been better. I would love to show some of the other art and jewelry on the tour... Well, maybe next year the weather will cooperate.
Bill ~ Nashua has talent! I think people enjoy the livestyle and lower taxes in New Hampshire and then venture to Mass for some shows and excellent food options!
Kat ~ I wish the weather had been better... it was really raining hard today.. tomorrow should be a lot nicer.
Judi ~ I hope we have some sun on the horizon... it was really raining hard today!
George ~ I love this event.. it is delightful when the weather cooperates... I hope tomorrow is sunny!
Joan, I would love to do this. We have an Art Stroll once a month in Kennett Square and it is great. I love the "fresco" of the arches.
Janice -- I love these events that feature art and music along with a fetival. Hopoe you enjoy the Art Stroll in Kennett Square..
Joan, it's so much more fun to Christmas shop at local art festivals than at the Mall at the last minute! Sounds delightful.
I was going to comment on the post, but then I read the disclaimer:

Now I'm afraid to -- LOL.
I would have expected a disclaimer like that in, say, New York, California, Illinois, maybe New Jersey, but certainly not New Hampshire!
LOL @ Russel!
Your area seems to have an abundance of "culture" with all of the festivals! I would love living there and taking advantage!
Russel -- You are so funny ... I can't help it... I played a lawyer on TV (lol)!
Renee -- We have an abundance of "culture" here in New Hampshire... We also have 4 seasons! I like all but one of them... or I should rephrase 2 weeks of snow is enough for me!
